Their primary goal of the Parish Visitor is to have compassion and to be a good listener. Some have called this a befriending ministry. It is an outgrowth of our call as a baptized child of God to love others as God has loved us.
Parish Visitors provide prayerful comfort and bring the Eucharist to those unable to come to the church, typically on a weekly basis. Becoming a Parish Visitor, parishioners must be registered, receive permission and training from a specified Deacon and the Parish Nurse, complete a Safe Environment Course and the Diocese completes a Background.
